Clear Aligners
Invisalign in Urbandale & Des Moines, IA
Fully removable. No inconvenient wires or brackets. They’re the best way to straighten your smile.
Clear aligners give you a straighter, healthier smile in as little as 3-6 months.
For mild cases, you won’t find a faster or more comfortable solution to getting your smile perfectly aligned. There are no uncomfortable, unsightly wires, and you can remove your aligners whenever you need to.
Move Over, Malocclusion
Even if you don’t have severely misaligned teeth, crowded or crooked teeth can still harm your oral health.
Uneven stress on your teeth
Misaligned teeth can affect your bite, causing some teeth to wear out more quickly than others.
Increased oral health risks
Crowded or crooked teeth are harder to clean, putting you at higher risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and more.

Improving The Smiles of Des Moines
Dr Lawson was so kind and spent a great deal of time with me discussing the treatment options for my kids. She is very knowledgeable in natural alternatives to braces. I’m excited to help my kids get a good night sleep and have a healthy mouth and body with the help of Lawson Dentistry.

Learn More About Clear Aligners
What’s the difference between Invisalign and clear aligners?
That’s a bit like asking what the difference is between apples and fruits. Just like how apples are a type of fruit, Invisalign is a type – or more specifically, a brand – of clear aligner. You may have heard of other brands like ClearCorrect and MTM as well. When you come in for a consultation, we’ll evaluate your smile and recommend the best choice based on your needs and budget.
Are clear aligners good for kids?
Clear aligners are a good choice for teens, adults, and even seniors, but typically aren’t a good choice for younger children who don’t have all their adult teeth yet. For children, we recommended a solution like HealthyStart or Myobrace, which are designed for developing mouths.
How much do clear aligners cost?
The price of your aligners will depend on how severe your case is. For example, if your teeth only need minor corrections, you won’t need as many sets of aligners as someone who’s looking to correct a more severe case, so your cost will be lower.
I feel like my teeth are quite crooked. Will I be able to use clear aligners?
While clear aligners are best suited to more mild cases, they’re still capable of handling moderate cases of misalignment. When you visit us for your free consultation, Dr. Lawson will assess your smile and let you know if clear aligners are a good choice for you.
How long will I need to wear my aligners for each day?
We recommend that you wear your aligners for 20-22 hours each day, including while you sleep. You’ll only remove them while you’re eating or brushing your teeth.
Are there any foods/drinks I can’t have while I’m undergoing the treatment?
Nope! Since the aligners are removable, you’ll be free to enjoy all the food and drinks that you love. Just remember to wear your aligners again after you’re done!
I have one/several dental implants. Can I still use clear aligners?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use clear aligners if you have dental implants or bridges since the aligner trays can’t reposition the attached implant(s).
I have veneers and/or dental bonding. Can I still use clear aligners?
We generally don’t recommend clear aligners for anyone with veneers or dental bonding, as the pressure from the aligners can loosen veneers or cause damage to bonding material.
