We have an array of restorative procedures designed to correct common oral health issues, while also ensuring a lifelike appearance. Often, we can use a dental crown to completely transform the appearance and function of your tooth. How do we create same day crowns?
When Do You Prescribe a Crown?
We can recommend them for a variety of reasons. For example, they can address advanced decay that a filling may not adequately treat. We can also use them to repair cracked, chipped, or broken teeth. When placed, they can anchor a dental bridge in place or restore a single tooth dental implant. As you can see, they offer a number of cosmetic and restorative benefits, protecting your smile from serious complications, such as decay or even infection.
Design and Creation
First, we will need to prepare the teeth by removing a small amount of tooth structure. We then take detailed digital impressions with an intraoral camera. This portion only takes seconds and you don’t need to bite down in a sticky mess, as you do with traditional impressions.
We will then use the information gathered to create a 3D model of the tooth, which is then uploaded into the E4D computer. The machine then mills the restoration from a solid block of ceramic.
Placement and Maintenance
Once complete, we check the fit and if necessary, make any adjustments. We then place the crown with a powerful bonding agent. The entire process, start to finish, only takes a single sitting. No need for temporaries, just a durable and lifelike restoration in a single visit. If you have any questions about our same day crowns, or any of our restorative procedures, then please contact our office today.
