Early pediatric dental care forms the foundation for your child’s future oral health. Dr. Lawson recommends that parents schedule a first appointment by the time their child is one year old, around the time of their first tooth erruption. This visit will give Dr. Lawson a chance to examine your child’s teeth and look for any issues, such as cavities or developmental concerns. As well, Dr. Lawson will use this appointment as a chance to create a positive experience so that your child leaves with a good impression of dental visits and an understanding of basic dental care. If you have any specific concerns, feel free to mention them to Dr. Lawson during your child’s visit.

To protect your child’s teeth, we offer pediatric dental services designed to promote healthy smiles for life. Dental sealants and fluoride can protect baby teeth and newly emerging permanent teeth. Thin layers of clear plastic, called dental sealants, cover the deep grooves on back teeth, and deter tooth decay from developing in those hard-to-clean areas. We will also apply fluoride at each visit to strengthen and safeguard your child’s teeth. Fluoride, in the proper dosage, attracts other minerals that strengthen tooth enamel.
