Meet Dr. Jessica Lawson
Raised in West Des Moines, Dr. Jessica Lawson is a 1999 graduate of Valley High School. She attended the University of Iowa, for her undergraduate education, where she completed pre-dental classes and received a bachelor's degree in Spanish; her foreign language education included studying abroad in Spain. After attending dental school at the University of Iowa, Dr. Lawson was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society and graduated in 2007. While in dental school, Dr. Lawson conducted dental research, participated in student government, and organized a mission trip to Costa Rica to provide dental care to underprivileged children.
Dr. Lawson belongs to the Des Moines District Dental Society, the Iowa Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, and she serves as treasurer of the Central Iowa Chapter of the American Association of Women Dentists.
Active in the community, Dr. Lawson derives great pleasure in participating in Give Kids A Smile Day, as well as the Smile Squad (children's dental access program). She looks forward to taking her team on a dental mission trip in the near future. Passionate about her career, Dr. Lawson enjoys all aspects of dentistry and the variety it has to offer. She takes great joy in providing complete care for entire families.
Dr. Lawson and her husband, Bryan, live in West Des Moines. They have three sons who keep them on their toes and provide constant entertainment! Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lawson and her husband enjoy running in half-marathons, watching the Cubs and Hawkeyes, and volunteering in their church.
Meet Dr. Georgianne Nelson
Dr. Georgianne Nelson attended Iowa State University for her undergraduate degree in Biology and Secondary Education. Upon graduation, she taught high school science before becoming interested in dentistry. Dr. Nelson attended the University of Iowa for dental school where she was involved in many activities, including serving as President of her graduating class. In her free time, she loves to travel and spend time with her husband and daughter.
